Yeah, it’s a make up commercial, but that barely comes into play. It’s all about empowerment, about breaking down social boundaries. Because it’s done by a brand that sells to women, it doesn’t tackle the masculine stereotypes that are pervasive in our society, but it does use powerful and well known role models to disassemble the stigma behind strong females in society.
Plus, they use their slogan effectively. Let’s have women understand the power they have to defy convention and make the world a little more easy, breezy, beautiful. Well done. They don’t make the world beautiful mean in the physical sense, the reds lips and flawless skin sense. They make it so when I hear that phrase, I feel that they understand the beauty in equality.
This is the type of commercial that makes me feel better about being a consumer.
